DSMC1 SIDE HANDLE Question ??????

We have 2x Red Dragons which we still Love after all these years, but the record button on one of our side handles is working intermittently.

We sent it in for possible repair with CVP (I'm in London UK) but we also did this last year too, so this is becoming a habit :undecided:

Does anyone know of a simple fix for this button or should we just assign another button to record ?

We will move to DSMC2 at some point, but I still love the images coming out of the Dragons....

Appreciate any thoughts or ideas

I found mine wore out over time. I bought a great condition side handle on Ebay for $300.

I'm in the UK and have a side handle I can sell, excellent condition, still have the box etc ... however I would be looking for the blanking plate in return! .... Quite happy to do a super cheap deal as I don't use (or want) the handle at all, but its just on there at the moment covering the side of the camera.

This might work, we do occasionally strip everything down for gimble work and use the plates to cover the exposed electronics. So I not sure I want to trade my plate, let me think about this.

All you need to do is clean it with 91% alcohol. it stops working overtime from the gunk, oil, and dirt getting into it.

I haven't come across one that was actually broken yet. I suppose it can wear out but i definitely try cleaning it before replacing it.

I've just finished a super 16 mm film spot and next I'm using a DSMC 1 camera ...if anyone has some redvolts for sale let me know(pm me)..thanks (i'm in europe now)
