I know that this idea has been mentioned before, but just wanted to put in my formal request for such an accessory. It would be really great to be able to put the side handle on rods further out front, away from the body, for more traditional shoulder mounted handheld set-ups. Think Aaton wooden handgrip. But, with camera controls built in. With the quad battery module, some LW 15mm rods and the side handle moved forward, you'd have a pretty great lightweight handheld configuration, it seems.

I suppose with the Canon mount and EF lenses one could even use the thumb wheel to control focus...

I have been hoping something like this is in the pipeline too. Was hoping we'd see something with the REDONE but that never materialized, I am sure this was becuase of the form factor. The Epic is far more suited to hand-held rigs.

With the Canon mount being controllable by the camera, being able to zoom, focus (half button press mode), adjust exposure and start/stop recording, from a nice hand grip away from the camera, this ability does not seem like a far stretch. It would mean the camera could sit further back as well if used without modules. Right now it is somewhat awkward trying to have a hand-held shoulder supported setup because the side handle is locked to the camera, it ends up sitting way too far back. I realize with the quad battery module, and other modules for that matter, the camera itself will sit more and more forward and make this less of a complication, none-the-less, it would still be nice for keeping the rig nice and light.
