DSMC SIDE HANDLE QUESTION

[Mark Phelan]

So my side handle arrived today, fits great but I noticed that there was no strap with it, even though it has the anchors for said strap. Will we be receiving a strap for our side handle or are we on our own?

[Curran Giddens]

You are on your own. Let us know what you come up with.

[Zeb B]

What brand does Ted have in the videos of him at tradeshows?

[David Baumber]

I have spare Canon, Sony and Arri straps if you want one?

Put those pitch forks down boys!

[Zeb B]

Embroidered bigass hand-strap: seems like J&J would jump at a chance to have a RED logo somewhere on the camera. Hardly know what brand it now ; )

[Häakon]

They did have one, once upon a time...

Exactly! Where is that bad boy and how come it didn't come with my side handle? I think it's a Sunpak camera strap found at B&H for $14.95 and they just stuck a RED logo on it. Not wanting to add another logo to the already crowded camera, I may come up with my own.

Mark, are you sure that its http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/366416-REG/Sunpak_620_740_Contoured_Hand_Strap_for.html

it doesn't look the same as in the red photo, but its hard to tell from the miniature photos on bhphoto.com

[Ivan Egorov]

No, I'm not sure, looks like Ivan has found it.

Mark,

Can I ask you did you order your side handle separately from your X? Or is it the one that was allocated with the X package? I have been told I am to wait another month before I get mine.... X# 2xx April 2008 ship date on my RED One and i received my Epic Oct. 7th 2011. I guess I am just being impatient but I thought I would ask. Sorry for the thread jack....

Thanks

[Andrew clemson]

I just got one today that I ordered as a spare back in september. Still no side handles from our X allocation.

[Curran Giddens]

Just to be clear. The Epic-X packages DO NOT come with a Side Handle.

Or is it the one that was allocated with the X package?

Still no side handles from our X allocation.

Taylor, I ordered the side handle separately a while ago. Curran is right, it doesn't come with the X package.

Guys

Thanks for the correction. What I meant was, side handle ordered at time of Epic allocation. Thanks for the info and I'll go back to being impatient quietly now.

my sidearm is stucked - which way down i turn the wheel to release?
up or down?

[Paul Russell]

I have a spare Canon strap that I'll be using. It'll match my lenses.

No, I ordered my side handle in August, about a month I got the camera.

Lefty loosy, righty tighty. Counter-clockwise. Or, as they do on The Price Is Right, spin the wheel down.

[Mark Phelan]

How about this one?
