  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC modue still mini XLR?

And MUCH bigger, so the main issue is size of the I/O module.

However we will offer both (mini-XLR and XLR) versions of an I/O module...

Indeed. Everything you guys are doing makes perfect sense!

Jarred already told us the good news  :

When Jim says " minis" he is referring to mini 3.5mm jacks. The XLR inputs on the modules come in two flavors, Full size XLR's on the pro IO module and mini XLR's on the compact IO module.

The mini 3.5mm input on the front will allow you to use a shotgun or lav in a compact form without the IO modules.

Thank you Stuart and thanks to everyone else at Red!

And thank you to everyone involved in the audio side of things! You guys get too little attention for my taste. If we get pristine audio with all of these options I am going to be so stocked!

Could there be some sort of Red Wireless receiver within this magic Pro Module? I know, I am a greedy SOB some times... Just thought it might look much cleaner than having stuff strapped to a camera with nearly no cables.

We are also thinking "inside the box".

In my humble understanding of cameras I don't know if this means I am dreaming again or if it means that wireless receiving from any transmitter will happen by one unit within the module... but I think I just answered my own question... not possible to make one reciever take any given signal out there... right?

Methinks it is time for me to shut up for a while.

Well not quite in my case - I want a 5mp (3K) S35 body 'cause I think 14mp (5K) (not to mention $7000) is overkill and a 2/3" sensor is "underkill" - but they're doin' pretty darn good.
