DSMC Firmware Release Build v5.3.29

Fuji Cabrio / Red UPDATE!

Just got off the phone with Manny from Fuji... Here's the deal... and YES, it works! And YES! I'm one happy camper!

You MUST power the lens from another source, not the Epic. That much I knew; I use the 20 pin to AB D-tap...(I want the 20pin to Lemo next!). HOWEVER, the lens must be powered up first, then the camera! So if you swap lenses... you'll unfortunately have to power down first! Bummer, but hey, now the lens data is in all 3 of the Cabrios, (and all the Red Epics/Scarlets) AND you can trigger the record function from the lens! No more having to reach up with your left hand to 'red light' the Epic! So SWEET! Jarred Land, Matt Biederman, Trent Lillehaugen and all the others who worked on this... I apologize for the bombardment over the past 3 years... but damn! You guys made it happen! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Truly!

Oh... one more thing... I almost forgot! You need to TURN OFF the LDS function on the lens, and make it Cooke! (That's dip switch number 2 in the smaller (4 switch) grouping... turn that off or to the left!

If the switch is set properly, the keys mapped in the Red's (it is by default for the "Lens" key mapping feature), and you power the lens first... you get yummy goodness! Thanks Red team!

Hi Curt, until the last time i worked with the 19-90 with my Dragon it shows al info on my lcd but it didn 't worked in Redcine!! Does it work now!! Seeing the changes in distance, iris and focal

Since there's no thread for 5.3.33 yet, I'll post it here. My Scarlet-X has now the latest firmware 5.3.33 (jumped from 5.2.98).

I've had a problem with applying BS calibrations. After applying the calibration from the SSD, the sensor image on the touch screen appears only partly – part of it is stuck to the previous sensor image, and there's only a small part of the image on the side that shows what the sensor sees. In addition the histogram does not show (it's only black). This has not happened in my camera with any firmware before. I get the screen back working for instance by going to playback mode and then back to record mode, but this problem with calibration application seems to be a bug in the firmware.

Just another question about the exposure assist. I noticed that to use the exposure assist you need to lock off either the aperture or exposure (can't have them both on) to use the AE feature. However, in some extreme cases (for instance time-lapse) it would be good to have thme both being part of the AE function. For instance, if you use only exposure automation, then you will easily have the image out of BS range, and in some extreme situations (time-lapse form night to day) the aperture (let's say from 2.8 to32) might not be enough to control the AE. If both aperture and exposure could be on simultaneously, there could maybe be a setting for priority for either of them...
