Hi Guys

on my last hire job they lost the screws for the epic DSCM plate and Ive been to several Nuts&Bolt shops around town and cant find replacements...if the screw has the right thread, then the head is too big to fid in the bottom of the plate. if the head is the right size then the screw has the wrong thread size....argh

does anyone know where I can order some replacements or knows the exact size and spec number of the screws ?

thanks

all this assuming you are looking for screws that go in the bottom of the camera from a tripod plate. otherwise the camera uses torque screws and hex, both metric.

all the sizes are printed on the camera as well :) both metric and imperial.

yep exactly, the screws that shipped with the EPIC DSMC plate.

For a quick fix, get the one with the head that is too big and the head can be turned down with a lathe. If no lath available, try chucking up the bolt in an electric drill motor and a stationary grinder or hand motor grinder such as a Makita 4 inch can remove material while the drill motor rotates the bolt. Not very pretty, but field expedient. Hope it helps.

If you have a Fastenal nearby you could give them a check. They usually have a larger selection of standard bolts and such, at least compared to my hardware store. If any place locally fails for me then I go over to mcmaster.com and I am sure to find what I need there. The best tip there is to get a caliper to measure the size of the openings and you can see all of those dimensions of the bolts on their site.
