Was on a shoot yesterday and there were a couple of instances where a RED ONE had several dropped frames within the same clip rec to an 128Ssd , how is that possible? If it is possible (which it would have to be), how common is it. The camera movement wasn't irrational nor had it been recently nor were the takes particularly long.

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Can you send me the log file and the clip where you saw it?
Can you also run redundead on the mag?

Are you 100% sure it's on the media and didn't happen in transfer.

All te dropped frames I have been able to track ever - has happened on the transfer, unless one have been shooting to RedDrives in shaky/noisy conditions...

Solid state has had a 0 fault record in my book so far...
Transfer has had a rather bad record, though.

SSD's have been mega reliable for me. Worst I've seen is a corrupt frame which seems to have been attributable to the OS messing with a write enabled SSD on mounting. Absolutely no faults at all since Deanan's advice to mount read only, and of course Red Watchdog manages that for you now :)

Did the camera report the dropped frames, or did you see them in RCX-Pro?
