Has anyone ever rendered to a dropbox folder straight from RCXPro?

I would test my theory now but I am no where near my system.

Or a workflow similar that would save exports to a cloud?

Yes. It has worked for me.

But within the last two weeks, Dropbox has disappeared a few .mov files. Not sure what is up.

I just successfully uploaded 126 of 232 720p formatted h.d264 files.

Have to fnd a sweet spot, these files are too big.

Did you let anyone else have access to the folder?

Ive had clients accidentally delete files.

Do you guys find dropbox better to use than vimeo?

just curius, we use vimeo all the time, and very often we upload full uncompressed HD stuff and such. The nice thing with vimeo is that we can upload high resolution and then they process it in their end to different resolutions for download and streaming. So we can upload the final masters and the client can see it streaming on his mobile by just clicking the link and if he likes it he can download it in original file size...

I have not found any other solution that beats vimeo, and to me it seams like thier servers are very fast, or at least I do not find it slower than dropbox.

I use Vimeo all the time, but I need something that can upload on the fly.

Not sure if Vimeo can do that.

Right now my 232 day 1 - 4 shoot clips are almost uploaded but I did start around 1am.

My fault for setting the compression too low.

Files could have been 70% smaller.

Too late to stop it

You thing looks like a whole interface thing with everything in it.... I can just tell you if I send a vimeo link to a client and ask them to put their comments in the comments field under the vimeo player... sure enough they send their comments as an email. So to me the only thing that counts is fast down and uploads from all over the world. the rest nobody really care about. We got 1000Mbit/s both ways from our side, vimeo provide pretty good bandwidth at their end and most important they mirror their files all over the world. So the only question actually is will you beat them on bandwidth between continents and such?

Can you give us a demo account so we can check, how it uploads from here and download in newzeeland for example?

We'll get you set up with an account soon, we will definitely be offering comparable services beyond Vimeo, Vimeo is a killer service and we love them and use them for many things but as you point out it's not really viable as a collaborative workflow scenario.

I like and use "Copy" and export directly to that folder and it goes right to the cloud. What I like best is I can export directly to a folder the client has access to and I can set permissions as to whether they can modify it or not. My favorite part about it though is that if I get the client to sign up and and I share the folder with their account, we share the data so I don't need as much as if we were both using Dropbox accounts.
