Hi all
Actually on a shooting for a feature and got some random problems of drop frame during the rushes backup session.
Camera : Red MX, 4K 2:1, RC42, 24P, CF Red 16Go
Computer : MacBookPro, OSX 10.6.7, R3D Data Manager 6.2.1
CF Reader : Sonnet Pro dual compact flash adapter Express Card 3/4, Driver 1.1.4
Hard Drive : LaCie Rugged 500Go, Firewire 800

This problem doesn't appear when using the drag and drop method !!!

Also remember that R3D DM will not catch dropped frames or corrupt files :(

The issue you are having has come up on my end a few times as a bad firewire cable or reader.
