Okay here goes it. I am gearing up for the realease of Scarlet. I have 2 raid ssd drive units that I will use for capture. I want to make sure that the Reddrives used for capture are pretty much the same types of setup. I guess I mostly want to know if the drives are formated a certain way, NTFS, FAT32, etc. in order to capture.

Can anyone help me with this question? In case anyone wants to know how I will connect the camera and the drive, there is a cable that has an eSATA end as well as a Reddrive connection attached as well. I just have to remember where I saw the cable.

The new drives will be most likely be FAT32 as have been the old ones. This is more a licensing questions than a technical.
Regarding your storage, as long as it is your (PC) storage you're good to go with every FS you may like, but you will not be able to exchange RED drives, at least not officially - RED is branding the firmware or at least the readout of the storage and whenver you're not using theirs, you will be unable to use it, or limited (like non-RED CFs - no matter how fast, they will show up as 2K media only, no 4K possible).
