Would the HP Advanced Profiling solution be all that's needed to calibrate a dream color monitor so that the DVI input was good for photo editing and the HDMI input (fed through a black magic card) sufficient for basic color grading?

I was going to invest in a separate monitor for each, but if I can get by with one screen, well... awesome. :)

Or do I need to purchase a CalMan solution for some huge amount of money? My market will be web and lower end broadcast.

You can probably hire someone with CalMan to come in and calibrate. The Dreamcolor has a 1D LUT, but everything falls into place nicely.

Where are you located? If you are in So. Cal, www.avical.com would be the one to hire. Dave is great!

I am indeed in social... Pretty broke, though, how expensive does a decent calibration run?

Could I calibrate myself to an acceptable level with the HP Advanced Profiling Solution unit?

Is the dream color good enough for grading? Fed through HDMI from a black magic box? It's either that or a plasma or an old CRT.

I don't think $99 for CalMan for Resolve is a huge amount of money, do you? i1Display3 OEM at $249 is not that expensive either, especially if you'd like to have a piece of mind, that your grading is not an exercise in futility…

Can I use the calibrated HDMI settings with a Black Magic Intensity or will it only support YUV (rather than RGB)?

Would I be wise to purchase the Z24X over the LP2480ZX?
