You might have been proud today. I taught a couple new kids about exposing the sensor to light when they believed changing the ISO changed their exposure.

I told them two things. Your aperture and your NDs will determine how the sensor is exposed. ISO does not change this.

ISO is more or less a tool to give your brain visual clues to protect yourself in post where you really push your ISO to acceptable levels. 800 ISO protects your highlights, 320 ISO keeps you away from noise.

Glad I had you guys to learn from, even more glad to know this now and to be passing it on.

Exposure and contrast = use of light and lighting in one way or another, even when in a dark scene and with "available" lights.

1. To get good blacks, you need light.
2. Exposure = the photons that actually hit the sensor.
3. Photo Graphy = Painting With Light
