  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon upgrades

Elsie, I get that and hopefully that is the case. Don't get me wrong I have been a Red owner since the Redone came out. I just want Red to knock it out of the park and give people a reason to choose Red over Arri.

It just occurred to me... I'll bet productions like "The Blacklist" will switch to RED Weapon (if they aren't already shooting on RED) just BECAUSE of the name.

Seriously, with all the violence and inhumane things going on in the world at present, why anyone would waste energy protesting a camera name when they could be protesting serious problems... it's beyond me.

I can imagine that the weapon name could be a problem , the world is already too violent. Too many weapons on earth:
"Make love not war!!" "Peace and love",.

It seem's like while I was taking my time to type up my scenarios and "solutions", most of my views were already expressed. I take a long time to put together my opinion, and even longer than normal this time because I was trying to be funny. Still, I'm happy that I was able to brainstorm, and offer my opinion along with others in a forum where people are allowed to express themselves to a company that listens...

However it turns out, I'm taking it one step at a time, and trying my damnedest to get to Dragon before NAB. I'll worry about Weapon (or whatever it ends up being) after...one problem at a time.

Guys thanks for the suggestions and your votes but the name is not going to change.
 
I have to say RED gave all Film makers a gift, anyone can grab a camera and shoot. No more costly film.
What is the sad part is the post.
Shooting a small budget music video to Mow to a Feature all of my clients have problems with the RAW. Why cant RED have a sub file that can be Edited asap. On my last movie it took post 4 days to get the dailies out.

RED help us with a file that can be edited out of the camera.

Cliff, I'd suggest studying the posts of and processes espoused by Michael Cioni and Sam Westman as a start to improving your post flow. It shouldn't take 4 days to get dailies. And, there are too many advantages to raw to enumerate. Personally, it is probably the single most important reason I shoot RED.

It's a good point. With the Red One the sensor is named on the side module which can easily be swapped out.

I also thought it was an interesting idea that changing the name plate could be some kind of paid upgrade. :)

You guys are starting to get into the personal attacks with this name stuff so we are gonna clean this up a bit and you can go over to the name thread to talk about whatever is left to talk about over there.
 
Any more teasing pics or info on the new camera? I came to check the thread and it's all this name stuff, but I'm interested in the camera itself. PLEASE!!! The anticipation is killing me.

I'm at at SCARLET MX now and ultimately want EPIC because I'm hurting with out the high frame rates options, artistically when doing work. Is there any chance of going from SCARLET 'WEAPON' to EPIC 'WEAPON' upgrade in the future? Or do I have to go from Scarlet to Epic 'now or never'.

That would make ALL the difference to me in the world!

This is all very exciting,looking forward to when we don't have to speculate on specs anymore, roll on nab:)

The December the 1st price increase was a massive deal for me,getting the funds in order was not easy, but I did!!! And I'm very glad, the image has blown me away.

now to be told arr well we have changed our minds and you need not have stressed out like you did is well a kick in the balls!! To say the least

This is not a nice way to run a company in my opinion,not all of us are big earners with lots of cash sitting around but most if not all here believe in the product,me being one of them. What I did not expect is to be treated like a dick!

Well done on the camera but poor show on the delivery
