Does anyone know what the ballpark ASA rating is for this OLPF? I feel like the joint consensus is 320 for Highlight/Skintone and 800 for Low-light. Does this mean standard should be rated around 500 or 640? I'm also curious to know if anyone has noticed any weird flare issues similar to the low-light OLPF?

Jon,

Good question and I am glad you used the term "ballpark." From looking at Phil Holland's test I would guess a 640 or 800 asa would be a good start. With my STH OPLF I was happy to push up to 400 and 500asa and up to 1280asa with LLO but it all depends on how you expose. If you tend to overexpose you can afford to rate a little higher and if you like to expose your pictures a little darker probably best to lower your chosen ASA. This again is all dependent on your tolerance or liking for noise. For some projects a little texture to the image can be positive but not for others.

I am hoping to have a Weapon equipped with a STD OPLF next week and I will test and also monitor the results from real world shoots to determine how I will rate the camera with the STD OPLF. This is one of the wonderful aspects of file based digital cinematography is that it is so easy to analyse and study your own footage in the comfort of your living room with "standard" computer gear.

Received mine yesterday - will be doing some tests as soon as I can..
