Anybody have any idea what is going wrong here?? Got this kooky purple flare in the middle of the lens that moves when the focus moves as well. Here are two examples in still shots of the computer monitor.

The lens is an old Nikkor 24mm f2.0. Was shooting wide open.
 
Yup, that is aliasing from the screen as John has mentioned.

The lens might have a bit to do with it but mostly it's the screen itself that creates the aliasing/moire pattern.

I sort of thought it was the screen, except that when I rack focus with the lens the aberration moves with the focus, which is the part that confused me
