We just had our Epic Dragon serviced and on its return, noticed the boot time, as well as responsiveness of various functions to be much slower than before.

I'm guessing this is because it got a firmware update (we tend to run older stable builds for a long time between upgrades).

Might some other Epic Dragon owners post their FW revision and boot up times? Also, any thoughts regarding lag of various functions as a point of reference?

I thought this might not only help us determine if we're operating within typical specifications but other users as well.

Thanks in advance...

I've seen some lag with the UI loading up at boot and after leaving playback, but a firmware wipe and setting up the camera from scratch would usually speed it back up again (with the same settings reapplied). Going on a few months now since a wipe and starting to notice it again. Waiting on the new beta firmware to hit a stable build and then hopefully checking out the new boot time fixes. =]

I'll check my boot time in the morning.

My boot time on 6.2.3 is 21 seconds. It is not however an "older stabler version." It is a beta release.

I miss the days of Version 1.6 boot time was 8 seconds, however you could not play back in camera, which saved even more time on set !

I just updated my Epic Dragon to the December 18, 2015 release build. The boot time is still 32 seconds...

I remember reading that the October 2015 beta build was going to cut the boot time in half. I was really hoping that this new release build would address the boot time issue. Given the cost of the Dragon sensor upgrade, I really feel like the camera was downgraded in that respect. Hopefully there will be a release build sooner than later that gets the boot time closer to what it was pre-Dragon.

The latest build 2.6.51 has the boot time down to 24 seconds. Certainly better than the previous 32 second boot time - but I still really miss the day of 15 second boot times.

Any rumors of RED getting the boot speeds back to where they were pre-Dragon upgrade?
