Figured I'd post this here.

I got my Dragon back not long ago and when first powering up the camera to just check everything out I noticed there was a region of the frame that was Magenta colored but faded off into the normal image. It sat primarily on the left side of the image/screen. I put the lens cap back on and it was extremely noticeable in the blacks.

I did a sensor calibration and it was still apparent. I finally got it to go away somehow and don't have a saved screen grab of it, or a file since my cards were out on a rental at the time. I did the calibration after I got the cards back, so I powered the camera back down afterwards, turned it back on, formatted the card then the phenomenon appeared to be gone.

Also It's extremely noisy at 2000 ISO after a blackshade/calibration even with the LLO.

Anyone else experienced this? If I can repeat the event i'll post a image.

I just got my Dragon also and experienced the exact same thing but Im not having the noise at 2000iso. I couldnt find anything on the forum about it either.

This is normal. Definitely wait until the Dragon is up to the correct temperature before doing a black shade. When I startup my camera, I usually keep my lens cap on and hit both RAW and Video Exposure Check (Predator Mode) to watch the left corner of the frame until the "grain" smooths out. After about 7-10 minutes, you'll see the left-side grain structure move from harsh... to sparse... to barely a speck... to completely clean.

I can definitely tell why RED chose to make the native fan mode Adaptive @ 65. This sensor really needs the heat. No need to worry, just wait it out and black shade then ! (And definitely use this startup trick to know when your camera is ready to record in the future.)

Anthony or Bob, either of you installed the latest beta build and checked what it looks like with the lens covered and the gioscope tool?

I let the dragon LLO warm up for over a half-hour, increased the temp setting to 70 just to make sure the sensor got real warm, did a black shade, and here's what I see. Is this considered normal? I guess I was expecting to see a (more or less) solid black screen instead of the snowy screen I see with the gioscope.

NOTE: The white rectangle you see reflected in the red touch display is the cover of the iPhone i used to record this. In case you were wondering...

Latest stable build here too.

Watched your video on my phone and caught a bit of the noise, but can't tell if it's eminating from the left hand side only or balanced across the screen. The character of the noise looks similar to what happens when you set the ISO of Dragon really high. The grain is kind of "glitchy" in nature.
