This weekend I shot some footage of my Dojo instructors giving a demo at Free Comic Book day. I had several things working against me, but the DRAGON exceeded my expectations. Here's an R3D showing a still of how great it handles an embroidered red logo under midday sun:

For the record, I was shooting 3.5K WS @ 166.77 fps, REDCODE 9:1 with a Fujinon Cabrio 19-90 T2.9, 19mm @ f8. Shutter was 150 degrees (1/400th sec).
I'm very happy with the colors that come straight from DC/RG4.
Looking forward, I'd do a few things differently. While I got to the venue an hour early to set up in a position more favorable to the action and to the sun, the demo shifted when a large vehicle (in the background) unexpectedly parked where the viewing audience was supposed to be. So the demo changed location at the last minute and I had to set up the camera looking into the sun. Without a matte box. Ugh.
Judging by the chromatic aberration visible at 19mm, I'd also shoot 4K WS at 150 fps and zoom in to 22mm. The last few mm of wide zooms are always dicey, and the more the image can be down-scaled, the less apparent such aberration is. That would probably also help out the REDCODE compression, too. But I'd have to see whether 6:1 slow motion is as tasty as the 7:1 slow motion I captured.
