I used the search function, but couldn't find any direct references. Point to any forums post that address this if possible.

To the point...

Is there any info/discussions about the DR of the Scarlet FF35 DSMC as compared to say a Nikon D3 or Sigma SD14?

I'm a photographer and shoot brackets almost exclusively to use in a HDRI pipeline, but I also shoot video (hence the interest in Scarlet).

I see that the Scarlet FF35 also allows for support with Nikon lenses via a mount. I have a handful of Ai-S primes I use with the D3 already so that would be cool. However... does anyone know if that Nikon mount is something that could be swapped out with one that would allow Red Lenses to be used?

I'm very interested in the 15-25mm and 25-100mm zooms. It seems that the modular approach would lend itself to swapping out mounts, but the fact that the red lenses appear to be electronic I'm not sure that such flexibility will be there to swap back and forth from Nikon glass to Red glass.

Thanks for any help on the DR info and/or mount question.

<announced specs> DR of Monster sensor's: 14 stops -- 800% more sensitive than the Mysterium, considering an actual 10 stops measurement figure (there have been who have got more than 11 stops on the charts).

How exactly do you expect anyone to know anything about the dynamic range of a camera that nobody has? This will require real-world testing to get a proper measurement, which is kind of difficult to do when the camera may not have even been built yet...

All lens mounts are swappable.

I didn't realize it wasn't in existence. Each year begins in the winter season, then turns to spring, to summer to fall. I grew up with references to seasons as such so when I saw "Winter 2009" I assumed that was now. Had it said Q4 2009 "slash" Q1 2010, then I would not have posed the question here as I have.

As I indicated, I couldn't find any searches regarding DR. That and I am also very new here so I am not up to speed on the state of design/production.

Looks like I should just sit tight for a year and see what is released late this year or early next.

Thanks for the info though :)

What do you mean by "not even been built yet"? Do you really think that RED has not even begun testing prototypes? That they didn't define in their specs for the development of the sensors what dynamic range they aim at?

Do you really believe that? Sure not many people have had those cameras in their hands, but those who have know :meh:
