Can anyone please explain this overexposing tests between Gemini and Helium? And why shoot Helium at ISO 1600 in daylight? Old ISO calibration? Would be interesting to test against Helium using Skintone OLPF at ISO 320, which is what I shoot most of the time.
Looking at the last dark images of clipping point, I see that Gemini retains highlight a little better than Helium. But not by much. Not that is is worth downgrading from Helium and pay 5K extra. Or I am missing something?
FYI, I am looking the images from my iPad.
Hi Thai,
I have done this simple test to have an understanding of the highlight range that the sensors are capable of, in the extremes. I had a base of 800 and also did set the iso at 1600. 1600 was to see how the sensor behaves in comparison to 800 which will be useful in the interior-exterior scenes. The calibration is the new calibration. I see that the Gemini holds the Highlights range better than Helium at the extremes, so as the shadows. I find the Gemini very close to Monstro in the Highlights range.
I like to call the Gemini as a Baby Monstro.
