What is the best post-production workflow? DPX or Redcode? (We use Mac Pro, Final Cut, Color and a Raid).

Cheers!

What do you mean?
There's no Redcode yet in FCP/Color and FCp doesn't take DPX natively.

For the time-being, and in any perceivable future that i see, the apple workflow will be almost exclusively QT dependent.

Even their solution for native R3d ingestion is rumored to be just more efficient QT wrappers...Adobe is looking better and better everyday.

Now there's always the option of pulling in R3D files into Premiere Pro, then Dynamic Linking across to After Effects to output in DPX.

Note that the DL pulls the RAW Red files across, so you get the full 32bit AE workflow for the DPX step.

RED Plug-in coming any day along with a required update for AE and Premiere Pro next week.

Simon, what is the best way to pass PP EDL and AE finish EFX shots (DPX?) to Scratch (using native R3D) for conform and finishing? Lim
