Hi,

I am looking for a DP for a long overseas shoot between Egypt and Dubai. This is a small independant Television series and it requires hard work and a commitment for a long time. We will be shooting around the pyramids and in Historical locations. Please contact me if you feel you can handle this one. Send me info on where to see your work. I will also need a 1st AC and a DIT that are experienced with red camera.

Hi, to shoot "around" the pyramids will cost you A LOT of Bakshish (thousands of dollars, more than you ever expect), even if you think you have every official paper you need. Perhaps you already know. Wish you good luck!

Having shot 'around the pyramids' and having to frame out the Burger King sign...you will need a really good local "FIXER" to make it all work smoothly...as well as a wad of cash.
Jordan is wonderful to shoot in a quite a bit easier than Dubai [at least a few years ago this was true].
We FedEx's in our camera gear and rented all local grip & camera support.
I would advise bringing in your own support: heads & sticks. We had to visit local rental houses to see what was really there on site versus what was listed in their websites...most had next to nothing and could not answer direct questions...questions like: where is your dolly? What type of dolly is it? do you have a picture of it?
Crazy things like that.
The local crews are great!!! So is the food!

Hi zak, I have shoot on egypt (piramyd, King Valley and Abu simbel) with Red for a Prime time RAI UNO (Italian national broadcast television) documentary last october. It was exciting and everithing was good. If you need help or information pm me and I will be glad to help you.

Dubai has come along way in the last few years.
There are now three full camera and lighting facilities here one of which is Arri media.
So now days we have pretty much everything here, there is even a rumor that a muscow is coming in from Bahrain.(a days drive away they have 4 there for the races)

Hi Zackery,

I'm going out to shoot a TV series in Egypt with a company called "Baraka Media" for the next 3 months. Would love to know if you found any decent DIT's out there?
Hope your job is shaping up well.

Hi,

I've come from working in senior roles, hands on roles in TV, Film technology, having worked for SKY and Avid, along with freelancing for notible Visual Effects houses.

I am returning to work after taking time out to look after kids and did some retraining at the UK's NFTS on Camera's. Obviously I would lend myself very well to working as part of a crew with digital systems such as RED.

Also with my background in managing highly complexed technical and creative projects, manging very talented experts in their own feilds and with control of significant budgets (£400K to £M), I have no problem Directing and Producing.

Some recent images from my own film project I am currently in the early stages of developing (More up soon);

Just get in touch if you would like more info.

All my best,
Samantha Hamer
