Downloaded footage, now what?

Hi all.
I have downloaded 2 clips from redrelay.
How do I ingest them? The won´t load in L&T.

Have you downloaded the installer for FCP from RED.com/support? Then follow the instructions as they are in the manuals from apple and red.. Should work out then.

I have everything installed from RED but still not working.
I have tried to have the same filestructure as in the whitepaper.

I created proxies in REDAlert and dragged them in to FCP and that´s working but no ingest.

I personally just skip the L&T step and cut the proxies straight in FCP. Then I send the sequence to Color, color correct, then output whatever format I want.
The only problem I've had is with clips over two minutes long, in which case you have to export an EDL from FCP and import it into Color, but I believe long clips are a problem even with the L&T function.

i've ingested a 10 minute long clip using L&T, it seems to be working fine for me. you may want to check your file names. Try keeping a simple file name with no special characters or spaces, then keep the RDM folder in a top level folder in the volume you have mounted. I've had to fiddle a couple times but have always got the footage to load.

(in your short clips) ...How do you just send to color without exporting an EDL from FCP ?

After CC in COLOR, do you go back to FCP ?...how ?...Where in the pipeline you conform tu full res ?...can you conform to R3D 4K ?

Just do "Send to > Color" and it will create a new Color project and open in Color. After finishing in Color, I export each clip from Color in 2K ProRes HQ. Color can't handle anything over 2K. Then I drop all of my rendered clips into a Final Cut timeline and done.

Thanks Julio. When exporting in COLOR to 2K Pro RES QT files, doesn´t it matter whether you were editing with the P, M or H proxies in FCP in the first place ?...If I edit with the P proxies, for instance, I´m missing the conforming step.....
