Dovetail

Hi I know the RED dovetails admittedly suck.
However- is mine supposed to slide.
I almost had to take a hammer to get it on and now it is definitely not coming off.

Should I expect anything more.

Is this an issue that will allow me to return it?

You can contact your BOMB SQUAD rep and get an RMA number to send back the DOVETAIL and BOTTOM PLATE for eval. We will repair/replace, as needed.

Mine got jammed on the first day to the Red bottom plate. I had to unscrew the bottom plate from the bottom of the camera and the dovetail popped right off.

The trick for me is to never force the locking lever into place. I have to very gently slide the dovetail forward and backward as I try to lock it until I feel it slip into one of the holes in the bottom plate. Yes, it definitely sucks, but it does work eventually.
