  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

[FS: SUPPORT] Doug Dolly - new camera slider

Hi Josh and Darren

Yes, most users get 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 pipe locally. Aluminum pipe is lightest and strong, but chain link fence rail and post (at Home Depot, Lowes) is less expensive, strong, and sometimes easier to get.

Hi Doug, I have a question regarding your dolly: I have an older O'connor ultimate 10-30 head and the screw length is just short when I want to use it with the Dana. Do you know if your bowl with the half bowl on the bottom can accomodate the Oconnor without me having to modify it?
Thanks!

Akos - sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I had a customer with an OConnor head with the same problem. I cut down the half ball at the bottom of our adapter and that fixed it. Can do the same for you.

Bump.

Improvements over other sliders: value, rigid non-marring ends that work with two sizes of rail, and included 100mm AND 75mm ball adapters that allow FULL BALL LEVELLING.

Hello Doug,

I'm in the market for one of these but would like to know the weight specs? How durable and lasting is this unit?

Doug, Your link above didn't work so I couldn't check out the price but I was wondering: Do you send royalties to Dana Dolly? IMO: You should as your dolly appears to be a 99% copy of theirs. Your only change appears to be a plywood chassis plate instead of aluminum.

Every year at NAB some company will bring out a new product. Then, the succeeding year there will be a bunch of clones of that new product. That is blatant ripping-off of intellectual property and should not be supported by purchase of the clones.

If you made your Doug Dolly better with improved something that would be a derivative product and I wouldn't be writing this reply but I perceive that...you didn't.
