Looks like other than Shotput Pro, the other company hasn't undated the software in years, and their web certificate is dead, ergo they don't care enough to update it, so are probably not in business any more.

What is the standard for .r3d file transfer and backup as of today?

ShotPut Pro has served us well since the HVX P2 days

We have also used Hedge but it has some limitations.

Yoyotta ID is solid tool as well. We use it more for the LTO solution. - http://yoyotta.com/yoyottaid/main.html

Phil Holland is a wizard and has a workflow I would love to know but don't. Maybe one day.
