Very easy to trace this person down to their computer from the emails they sent, even down to their house address if they emailed you from home. Even moreso if there were multiple emails exchanged. If you want details how to accomplish this PM me.

From what I understand, there's an uptick in this type of fraud in recent weeks apparently. So its really important to report it properly. In addition to a Police report, and PayPal report, you should contact the Feds. Don't touch the jar of paint- it could hold latent prints, etc. Wrap the contents in a clean garbage bag-- packing materials and all. Contact your local FBI field office and report the crime. Tell them you have physical evidence. They should be able to help you. Internet fraud is the jurisdiction of the USDOJ and the cybercrime system is inter-agency linked, so when it hits DOJ, the info lights up across DOHS, Interpol, etc. They will tell you what to do. Keep us posted.

Thanks for posting guys. This is scary stuff and makes me think twice and be much more thorough before I buy anything used online. Also, definitely speaks to buying only from very trusted sellers who have good history on the forum ....
