  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Don't buy a Scarlet. Buy an Epic.

Not sure what you meant Eric? :-)

I see.. waiting game.. not good at times as one might lose jobs.. OTOH I did receive my brand new Scarlet and after the pricing announcement, I took the body to Irvine and returned it, am keeping all accessories to use on EPIC. Sad part is that I never got to fire the Scarlet up or shoot a single frame... just was able to open the box and admire it... I had one in my hand and I couldn't use it.. you can use it now, but you don't have one in hand... yet. Irony! They still show 2-3 weeks for Epic as well.. soon I will be in the waiting game once the funds clear..

I bought my Scarlet kit on Nov 3rd 2011, received it in Feb. Since even before my kit arrived, I collected my lenses, purchased more batteries and media, found the right tripod, support and bag/case options, got an UW housing, bought 4K capable software, learned the workflow, fine-tuned my computer. Along the way I worked enough to pay off everything, make a decent profit, amass 12 TBs of footage for my company and meet some great people through this forum. All of this gear and experience on this platform will match perfectly with my Epic once I pull the trigger. For less than what I would have paid for 1 Epic-X, I'll end up with my Scarlet AND an Epic w/Dragon. To each their own decision, but I don't feel like I missed anything by not buying an Epic a year ago. Just saying...

True, if you bought a year ago, it was great choice. Today, its a little different. I wish I bought Scarlet a year ago, but couldn't..
