Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, but thought I'd create a thread for anyone that has shot with Richard Gale's Dog Schidt Optics on the RED. I've owned a FF58 for awhile, and bust it out every now and then for experimental stuff. I recently shot a little spot with mine, customizes with a 2x bokeh and extreme low contrast.

Very Cool Kenneth. My only hesitation of taking on a rebuilt lens like yours, is that everyone of them will have their own look, which will almost always be hit or miss.

Check out the new trump set. 3 lenses all optically matched. They are really great. heres some footage i shot on my Trump set. 24mm coming soon :)

Joe,

I definitely understand. It's more of an experimental aesthetic for sure. Unless I had a complete set, I would never try to match footage from other lenses because it has such a distinct look.

Hey Domenic,

I saw your footage when Rich posted it on the Facebook page! Really great stuff. I'd love to see how those TRUMP lenses look when they aren't aimed directly at the sun. The footage looks phenomenal, but I've had issues with excessive flaring, even when not pointed at the sun. Do the TRUMP lenses have a tendency to flare easily, or since they have a deeper hood, is it harder? I've been thinking about investing in his TRUMP series, but the flaring/hazing on my FF58 was very hard to deal with.

Kenneth, The main reason i went with the trumps is one, they are a semi full set, and two, the flaring is much much much more manageable compared to the ff lenses. These lenses do flare wonderfully when you need them to, but when you need them to just look pretty, you dont really need to worry about much. They are much more controlled and that makes them insanely awesome. Ive actually just been shooting as much stuff with them as I can because they are so great.
