Does the Redmote work? So many mixed reviews :/

I'm just beginning to research a Redmote purchase and there are so many mixed reviews. Some say it works fantastic up to 75ft away and others have said its so worthless they dont even use it or rent it out with Red packages anymore. I've read other mention of antennae upgrades, etc.. Does the Redmote work or not? If there are issues, have they been resolved? I'm looking at one for use with the Scarlet on a Jib.

I have always had good results with mine. With the new antennae and firmware upgrades its even better. I too have read many people having problems with them. But my experience has been quite good. I've used it many times to roll remotely on cranes, jibs and car mounts.

Well, it;s been working flawless for me, never tested it for more than 40ft but, not a single glitch so far.
I'm really happy that I got it.

Since new antenna, perfection - used it as far as 30' - might work farther but never tried. Total necessity in direct sunlight when LCD too hard to read and using EVF. AC holds in hand while setting up shot. Side handle could do it, but not as efficiently.
