Does Sony V-Mount fit DSMC2?

I am looking at VM batteries. I see some just say V-Mount and others are Sony V-Mount. Is there a difference? I thought V-Mount batteries are universal. But will they both work with DSMC2 V-Lock Expander?

To my knowledge, Sony "invented" the V-mount so there should be no difference.

Hmm. How come some batteries fit DSMC2 but others do not?

It depends on the shape of the battery - not the mount. With the V-lock IO expander, the ports on the right side (HDMI, SDI, Audio etc...) sticks out far enugh where some odd or large shaped V-mount batteries will hit it. Most regular shaped V-mount batts work fine like those from Switronix (now Core).

Also this is not a problem if you have the Base IO and the V Lock expander. Only if you have the V-Lock IO module.
