Does RedRocket + ATI Radeon 5870 fit in MacPro 12core.

Hi,

I just got my RedRocket but still waiting on my Scarlet. I put the RedRocket in slot 4 of my 12core MacPro because the ATI Radeon 5870 from Apple is so big it covers the bottom two slots.

RedCine recognized the RedRocket but says it's only using 4 lanes of my PCI and it needs 8. The ATI is 16.

Has anyone had any success with this type of configuration. It's pretty standard for a Mac. Oddly most of the sample footage playback I tested so seem to play at speed except for 5k.

I have a hard time believing Red didn't take in account space for a standard card that comes with a MacPro, so I have to have be doing something wrong. Right?

There's extra space above slot 1 in a Mac Pro, so you should be able to put the Rocket in slot 2...

Thanks for your response. Yes, I only realized there was extra space after called the company, and they told me how to release the safety bar with the grey fan box.

So it fits but I still get the message saying that it's in a 4 lane instead of 8. Maybe there is something that I failed to do?

BTW, it is playing R3D video at 3k pretty flawlessly, but 5k from a Red One sample stutter if it's not at 1/2. Pretty amazing stuff anyhow.
