Does RED not sell a DSMC Battery Plate?

[Jameson Jordan]

All I can find on the RED Store is the Backpack Quickplate for $650: http://www.red.com/store/power/product/backpack-quickplate-m But all I'm looking for is a battery plate that doesn't require the 2B to 1B adapter. Surely this, by itself (I already have a Wooden Camera mounting solution), would not be too expensive considering the DSMC Battery Belt Clip is half the Backpack Quickplate price.

What's wrong with the belt clip one then?

Extra cable. It's the same reason I'm not a huge fan of the 2B to 1B adapter, it'd be nice not to have an awkward amount of cable hanging around.

This service converts your battery plate to eliminate cable and make it DSMC compatible.

Well the adapter is not needed for these two. Just for the red one versions. But it would be nice to have a direct (cable less) v mount battery end module which powers the camera directly through the v mount.
