I just noticed that my Komodo is slightly stuttering during playback. Project timebase is 23.98 and
frame rate is the same. I noticed this on the built in monitor as well as on an external Shinobi. I updated the firmware, did a factory reset as well as a sensor calibration.

Yes, It's really annoying having to explain this on set with every director, production company and especially agencies. No work around as far as I know.

Ok thanks—I’m sure it’ll be fixed in a firmware update.

Have you tried changing the SDI output frequency? It can be set to 24 or 60, IIRC, though there may be other settings.

I've never had this issue. And the fact that it's still happening on the LCD on the camera is also odd; are you recording 6k HQ? Have you tried LQ, or 5k? It could be an issue of the card not keeping up with the data rate.

What cards are you using? (small cards also seem to have more issues than larger ones, anything under 256 can be iffy)

Does it happen in all recording modes or just 23.98? Is 60p 4k fine? How about 5k 48fps?

I've never seen the actual screen or SDI lag at any point; the app certainly can at times, but I haven't experienced this. I had a card issue on my first batch of cards and had to RMA one, so card issues are certainly a likely option.

Hey Sean, it happens at 24 or 30 fps; yes, I changed the frequency, and I'm recording in 6K, both HQ. I'm using Angelbird cards--the 1TB variety.

I've also noticed some stutter during recording on a commercial in april. It wasn't something to really worry about, but clients tend to overexaggerate things and in some occassions this could be a real problem.

Overall the camera seemed too beta for me, like there's really lots of things to address before really jumping into work. Mostly menu related, like there's not so many options recording wise in various resolutions (aspect ratios).
