  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does Anyone Know if you can color calibrate the RED 7" touchscreen?

I noticed mine drifts green quite a bit compared to a properly calibrated monitor connected to the SDI port.

No. mines a bit on the warm side.

Unless you have an ability to add a calibration LUT, then no. RED would have to build into their firmware a way to load the display LUT into the path where there are already transforms going on. And you would of course need a way to get pattern generators to the display. I think the only way to realistically get these calibrated would be some kind of factory calibration and that's assuming the display can even hit the specs to begin with. I don't know enough about the design of the 7" to know what it's capable of producing for color and gamma.

mine is always low light compared to the final picture. We did it side by side with the 5' and the 5' is still the best reference. Hopefully they will release a 5' somewhen again (the 7' just is too big for gimbal work und the smaller one is just....too small)

Even some very basic controls would be nice
