  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does anyone here have experience with Axis security cameras?

They won't be a raw format they will be in jpg, tiff or some other standard picture file. I've never seen a ip camera export a raw photo as you don't want your camera photo or video to be edited (digital water mark, court, legal issues) hope this helps!

That is very, very helpful. I have actually asked a few vendors online. One said that the Axis cameras do video only (not true). The others said they didn't know.

Yes there should be an option to trigger a snapshot, usually its motion in the frame. Then you can set it to email you that photo. Unfortunately they will probably just be jpg. Ip cameras and nvrs are ment to run 24/7 so there designed to save as much storage as possible.

Canon bought AXIS Communications a few years back. AXIS do all their own chip design to comply with NDAA. Expect to see some new Canon sensors on their new models.
