  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does anyone else have issues with youtube/vimeo when they upload?

For some reason when I look at my uploaded footage, it's significantly darker than what I exported out. Is this due to the massive compression youtube and vimeo use on uploaded videos?

Or maybe it's because I viewed my uploaded video immediately after it was processed and should I give it time to wait? Idk... what's everyone elses experience on this video compression when uploading.

Thanks

If it looks dark at first, it won't change later on.

Unfortunately, that's the extent of my specific knowledge on the matter. I would (and should, at some point, myself) take some time, export a bunch of different codecs, and see what Youtube/Vimeo do to all of them with your own (my own) eyes.

That being said, I'm sure someone can chime in with some (more experienced than myself) advice.

Thanks Nick

That was exactly the problem. When I exported it out, I did it as an mp4 and that's what caused the darkness. I exported the same thing as an H264 and the brightness and quality looks almost like the original footage.
