  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I haven't posted on here much, but lurk from time to time. I just wanted to share a teaser for a documentary I've been shooting over the past year for my MFA. This sequence hasn't been graded yet and is really more of a test of workflow. I'd love to hear any feedback.

You've got some great shots and composition in there. I love the tone, but I would recommend cutting it down a bit. Several of the shots linger a bit too long, especially after they settle. I'm not really sure what the Doc is about, but it looks pretty!
 
Thanks for the comments. I've been filming over the past year, but I only just recently started doing anything with the footage. This film is taking me to every corner of the US to interview people, and I haven't even touched the interview footage yet.

The film is about people who share a common interest in the hippopotamus, whether through collectible nicknacks or the real thing.
 
I think it looks great. Most of the cuts are perfect with the music, but I would agree with Drew about a few of the clips being too long. I also would have had someone clean off some of the statues before shooting. The dust is really noticeable, especially when shooting 4K.
