  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Do you like Dubstep? do you hate it? Indifferent?

They just did a dubstep mix of a song I just did a video for.

Here's the remix.

And the original video if anyone wants to check it out.

Wow, some great responses. I'd heard some of the suggestions, and not heard some of the others. I think eventually you're going to see a Toyota commercial or something like that with a dubstep track, but it hasn't happened yet I don't think.

I ask friends all the time if they listen to any dubstep, and I just get blank stares. Dub what? But a lot of them like it once they listen to it.

I don't mind if some people hate it. People hated hip hop, hell they hated Elvis and is "rock 'n roll" devil music.

I like most genres, or at least some artists in that genre. I like some country music, definitely like some hip hop, trip hop, even some pop tunes. I like to go to a concert and listen to classical music performed live, but I'm not likely to pop in a classical CD while I'm driving.

I'm not a big jazz fan. I like blues, but jazz, and especially acid jazz just doesn't do it for me.

Bassnectar is having a show in LA Sept 9th at the Paladium!

Tom Lowe, I can't believe you were shooting at EDC and that you're a huge fan of dubstep.

Two great sites for fresh dubstep: www.hypem.com and www.thissongissick.com (well of course there's soundcloud.com too)

If you like electronic/house/dub: check out DJ BLEND on youtube.

Tom, post your EDC video! (as long as you don't get in trouble)

BBC Philharmonic Presents...Nero's Dubstep Symphony

Not a massive fan of dubstep but stuff like this I do enjoy...

I asked for permission to post a teaser but have not heard back yet.

I'm really digging what Pretty Lights and his labelmates are doing over at prettylightsmusic.com

Everything is free to download, check it out. Gramatik, Break Science, Michal Menert, and of course Derek himself are killin' it with their Chillout/Hip-Hop/Dubstep/Electro hybrid styles.

Gave Skrillex(and some lovely ladies) a ride to his set in our golf cart at Electric Forest, cool kid.

This trailer/ music combo gets the blood flowing. This song is on UKF Dubstep 2010 - Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix) [feat. Belle Humble] by Freestylers.

thanks for sharing that its friggin wicked:reddevil:

Fairly new genre in electronic music, has good potential. Exhibits the similar teething phase as prior electronic genres evolving in last 20 years, by depending on hard synths, raw sounds and punchyness, but it's nothing uncommon and the trend will pass. Good artists emerging and new stage will be surely very good once the creative critical mass brings it to the next level.

Some great news. Insomniac is going to let me post the first official footage from EDC Las Vegas this coming Monday on my Vimeo page (http://vimeo.com/timescapes), shot entirely on Epic with Master Primes at 96 frames per second! Can't wait to release it! It's 100% dubstep.
