I just saw an announcement that DNXHR and DNXHD MXf files can now be recorded. I am curious if anyone knows:
A: Are these Op Atom files? Ie. Will they go natively into Avid unlike the Alexa's DNXHD files
B: I am assuming the TC will match the R3D's. But does anyone know if the file name (excluding the extension) will be embedded in the reel column of the MXF? Therefore auto conforming back to the R3D will not be a problem?

Thanks!
Jesse

A: They are supposed to be MXF OP atom, but I haven't tried them yet. Also, when referring to DNxHD and DNxHR by "OP atom" or "OP 1a" it's MXFs, not DNxHD. The codec is just a codec, it's the MXF wrapper that is OP atom, just to reduce confusion. So the filesystem is supposedly MXF OP atom with DNxHD and DNxHR codec.

B: Good point, needs to be checked.

At this time the firmware update is only Beta and I'm usually waiting for the real release.
