  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DJI Ronin

I want my Ronin now! Fully paid weeks ago...

Norbert - please contact your dealer. FYI - they should have not ask for 100% up front - DJI recommended to the dealers to only take 10% deposits.
I really miss my summers spent skiing in Pitztal. That place is amazing and I could shoot in that valley alone for a year and not run out of subjects and scenic views. You are going to have a blast with your Ronin there!

anyone powering their epic/scarlet using anton bauer dionics on their ronin rig? I'm curious to see what is the best configuration. i've tried multiple configs and keep running into issues. i have balanced a bmc4k on it though and am impressed with the results. it is heavy but you know what?guess ill just have to hit the gym haha.

update: got a config that worked. works like a charm. can't wait to use this on a real shoot.

Very nice Luigi! The wildlife in Europe has evolved a lot since I have left... ;o)
Love the passing shot from the balcony!

I think I really agree with you is that these gimbals free our mind and we can now imagine shots that we would never consider before...

Keep it up!

Thanks Peter, yes this gimbal is extra toooolsss ;)

I purchased 2 extra batteries from Intelligent UAS, but they are still out of stock. Would love to know when DJI will make these available. I believe extra batteries should be their new focus, as it's incredibly risky only having 1 battery in any professional setting...

Yes Daniel - the batteries are high priority. There was a redesign of the batteries following the beta testing so they are still catching up with all the pre-orders. Just to be clear - the batteries delivered to you are already the new design. They just need a ton of them to supply both the basic Ronin pre-orders and then catchup on extra parts.
The production is ramping up and they should be available soon...

Sorry if I'm late, I haven't been tuned in but whatever happened to the group buy? I signed up and picked my distributor of choice a while ago. Did they kill this? Haven't gotten an answer yet.

Tom, I would contact that distributor - they should have been in touch with you by now - Ronins are getting delivered left and right...

Hi guys. I really dont know where to post this. My client is asking me to use s4 minis on the ronin. Two questions pls. Do you think it can handle the weight and secondly would you recommend using a mattebox or just a screw in filter? To be honest I am not sure if the S4 minis have a front thread. I know they have a 97mm front but not sure about the thread. Thanks. Really appreciate any help.

S4's Minis are fine - we have just finished shoot with the Ultraprimes. You will be fine with one of the compact MB's out there, just don't expect to use full-size production MB. Check out the gimbal accessory thread for details.
Also - I highly recommend you set aside one full day BEFORE the shoot to properly setup and configure your camera. You will be surprised how long this can take the first time to make sure it all fits and balances on the Ronin without obstructing movement...
