From our experience it is fine for cam based pl cine lenses... we would avoid using with really stiff helical lenses.

Preston, ARRI etc often charge more because you do get a bit more... for example ARRI CLM3 motors will destroy lenses before they will break.. I have actuall used a CLM 3 to drag a heavy weight and it was fine..

that said we bought the DJI on a whim and it has been great.. Our Arris units MDR is simply too heavy for gimbal work ..and for serous remote focus I'd really recomend playing it safe and going with one of the big boys!
