What about optional telescoping legs, sort of reminds me of my 1970s Rohodes Suitcase piano that had legs that you could screw in the bottom. Really is an ultimate all-in-one option here.

Why thank you. The legs are super lightweight aluminium, detachable, and when folded up are only 2 inches thick. We are very happy with them. There's also a few different custom options you can have on the legs, side tables etc.

P.S. Love the use of "Sexiest". I may have to quote you on that.

haha, please do. Sorry I now notice the feature for legs, posted too quick. I would add SSD organizers and SSD readers to your specs as EPIC no longer uses CF. Of course CF is widely used in the R1 community and will be in the scarlet community...just a suggestion.

All over it my friend. If your lucky enough to be working with the EPIC, we got you covered. We can set you up with an EPIC equipped DIT Station.

Just call us The A-Team of on-set data management. "I love it when a DIT Station comes together" :sifone:

Interesting!

So....what's included, EXACTLY, for the $10k price? I'm assuming based on the language this doesn't include the laptops, and I can't tell or not if the Rocket card itself is included as well, or if the mobile rocket enclosure is included sans the card itself.

Clarification on these? Thanks.

Correct. The setup does NOT include the RED Rocket card itself or the laptops. It DOES include everything else. You got the custom cut case, all the port relocation, lights, custom ventilation setup, custom lightweight stand, high standard UPS, dual access NAS storage, Maxx Digital's Mobile Rocket, ummm .... a cuddly toy. Oh and a cup holder!

We are very much so shipping and we have a little photo shoot tomorrow with the stations so I'll post them as soon as their ready. Should have a little video content coming your way as well. Watch this post!

This just poses many more questions. Thanks for the clarification on my previous inquires, I'm sure this will benefit anyone in the market for your bit of kit here.

Without getting into the possibility of giving secrets away, I'm curious about several things with this setup.

Firstly, does it REQUIRE 2 laptops, or can it function with only one? Seems like you would need 2 because of the limited bus I/O of one laptop, especially with one of the PCI connections no doubt going to the mobile rocket.

Will the website also soon have available a manual with operational information?

Actual photos are of interest as well.

Sorry for posting it here, but for DIT it is a good idea to add at least SxS reader to be most versatile and works with Alexa too, at least for download station.

2 Questions:
Have you actually made any of these? If so could we see some pics and not renders?
What exactly does it come with, the site is very very vague, does it come with the RedRocket, HDD's etc etc the site needs better descriptions.

This looks very cool. I would also be interested in seeing photos or a video.

From experience being able to just roll a station in, open it up and work is awesome.

It looks kinda like the one we built as a lightweight DIT station.

I am working on a hack for esata. The mac mini is the server version so I have 1 SSD inside and a second internal sata port available. I plan on finding a cable that will plug into the internal sata and give me an esata on the other end. From there I only need to cut a small portion of the bottom plastic circle off to get the cable out of the mini. Should be pretty simple to do I just haven't taken the time yet.

The box on the lower left is the control for the UPS which is under the hinged platform everything sits on. It shows the in and out voltages. remaining run time and load %. It also lets me turn off the UPS without moving any of the gear. I hacked a 1ru cyber power UPS up to take off the front controls and keep the main unit mounted to the inside of the case.

I think I will build my own with a Thunderbolt architecture :)

What are the lights over the keyboard for? ;)
