• Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Discontinued Flare Guard

Nick, are these coming built-in on new Scarlets, or is this something one still has to request?

RED stated new cameras (from now on) would have the bushing installed. So if you haven't been allocated yet, I would expect you will be right. But worth double checking with your rep.

Douglas and Conrad deserves a big thumbs up for quickly making an interim solution!
Also very pleased with this solution from RED, seems to solve the problem, has great documentation, and it's free :-)

For new cameras, we will be addressing the issue with a permanent solution that is an integrated part of the manufacturing process (i.e. not user installable). This permanent version is in the development stage as we speak. We will continue to offer and provide the user installable removable OLPF Port Bushing solution upon request. We just received initial quantities of the user installable version so we are taking care of existing owners with those and we have not cut it into general production at this time.

Could we have a non "permanent bushing" option for new cameras?

I would love to have the option to choose this technical hickup for easthetic reasons.

Thanks

Pat

It works on M & can be removed in under 5 minutes, when you install one or see the instructons removal is very obvious!

I emailed olpf@red.com several days ago and no reply. Was hoping to get these 2 cameras fixed with this issue before we start shooting a feature on Monday 2/6/12. Can someone please help me?

Yeah, never heard back either. Be good to know if they got my request.

If you sent an email to OLPF AT RED DOT COM this week, you will hear back from us by the end of the day today. We are processing all requests and entering them in to the delivery queue.

If you don't hear back from us by tonight please re-send your email and I will make sure it is received and processed.

Also, please confirm your shipping address, and camera serial numbers that will need the OLPF Port Bushing kit.
