Disabling Time Machine

We have received a few paniced calls from folks shooting RED who "accidentally" clicked on the Time Machine Prompt, mangled their RedDrive media and asked us if we could recover the media -

If you have never seen this trick - here it is - disable that super annoying Time Machine Prompt -

* open a Terminal window
* paste the following command:

defaults write com.apple.TimeMachine DoNotOfferNewDisksForBackup -bool YES

Yeah to be honest I don't get why Time Machine isn't completely disable-able from the System Preferences.

Thanks a lot. It is really bothering. For most of the things apple design is great, but some are the most stupid I've ever seen. They try to make everything dummy proof, and because of that it becomes a dummy system. It doesn't make any sense that you cant easily disable that stupid feature.
