So does anyone know if it's possible to disable the record function of the side power/record button? I have absolutely no need for another record button and it's frustrating that if you go to turn off the camera, sometimes you will hit the button wrong and it will start recording instead of shutting off. Having one button serve both functions in this case is a bad design as something important like a power button should always be it's own dedicated button. I have tried key mapping it with no luck. There doesn't seem to be an option for that button. Am I missing something or is it not an option?

BTW, is there a way to save the keymap and other settings so I don't have to redo everything when I upgrade the firmware each time?

Yes, you can modify the action of ANY key and save your key mappings to a preset file.

Setup -> Keys/Shortcuts -> Key source: Brain, User key: Brain Record Full Button Down, Key Action: Key Disabled should turn off the record function. Though there might be a problem with changing the key setup for the record buttons as on my Scarlet with 2.0.8 the Brain's record button gets disabled if I try to change what the SSD module's record button does on full button down.

You can save and load presets (including key mappings) through the preset menu.

Okay, figured out the presets thing. It's kinda odd to have something like presets not in the settings menu. I was looking for it in the wrong place. Too used to the old R1 menu system.

I set that key map that way (tried it when I first got my Epic back in October), but it doesn't work. The key is supposed to be disabled and do nothing but power on/off, yet it still records. It's been that way since 1.7.x up to the current beta of 2.0.8. Maybe it's a bug that RED doesn't realize.
