Did Red One support Anton Bauer CINE-VCLX 560 watt hour battery?

We are using this battery for Phantom HD and Silicon Imaging SI2K Camera.

The issue with all of these non-red batteries is that you dont get the fancy readout in the LCD/EVF/back of the red that show you the battery left percentage. So as the battery dies, theres no way to tell how much is remaining. And even more important, it wont shutdown before the battery ends, meaning that it is entirely possible to loose footage if you are recording while that happens.

you do realise most new battery blocks come either with LCD displays
Or a red flashing light when you are running low.

On a side note, the new Orgio firmware also has a read out for 3rd power sources giving you more then enough notice on batt status.

There really is nothing like just powering everything off a simple block,
Beside most Vistory blocks will last you till lunch.

That doesnt prevent human error. You have to look at it and be awake enough to realize its about to run out. And the beeper solution, though great, will piss off enough directors & actors to not make it worth it. The red system, with its faults, wont let you loose footage. You will loose footage with other batteries if it dies during recording (and your ear is covering those handy LCD readouts). Most certainly that one take, and possibly more - because we love the sound of heads scratching against the spindles during powerloss, removing all those flakes of zeros and ones.

The real solution is to get red to update the firmware to run with any 12v+ power source and determine its voltage.

The AB blocks work with red. Keslow sends 3 out with all their packages. I've seen a lot of other places running the red with them as well. They could run a red as long as 5 hours.

Yep those exact Cine VCLX, Keslow sends them out in their Packages. They are fantastic, I recommend them.

And I always notice the Red blinking Light long before i would ever notice the Percentage in the LCD screen, when your out in the sun you can at least see the red blinking light, as a Utility or 2nd AC, you rarely see the LCD or the REAR LCD unless you push the 1st AC or Operator aside to look.

The batteries work great with the RED (as well as the Phantom, F23 and other high-draw devices that run either 12v or 24v). Not only that, but Abel has special REDuser deals on these batteries that include a cable to connect directly to your RED One. We also have them available for rent. There are two sizes of battery, the CINE VCLX and the CINE VCLX/2. The /2 model is half the size of the other, and it can run the RED One continuously for more than three hours.

hey mitch ;

do you have any v mount to anton bauer adapter plates for the red? do they make any???

You mean an adapter plate to stick onto your V-mount so that it accepts an Anton Bauer battery? Sure, that's the QR-DSR. We have them in stock. There is also a replacement plate for your V-mount which is a native Anton Bauer mount. Screws right onto your cradle mount and includes the cable to plug into the camera. That's the QR-RED and I believe we have them in stock as well.
