  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Did I leave out anything?

Ok, I'm not happy about the shelving of the Scarlet 2/3" interchangeable either, but I'm moving on. By next fall, I plan to purchase a Scarlet-X. (Perhaps in the coming year, I'll opt for an Ikonoskop or buy a used Scarlet by next fall. If a 2/3" interchangeable is re-considered by RED after I make this purchase, well, you can bet I will be disappointed. ) Anyway, please take a peek at this image - http://josephpodlesnik.com/ball-o-wax_without-tax.jpg and let me know if I've left anything out. I realize prices will increase after the start of the new year. Is the Canon glass ok? Will RED bricks work with the Scarlet? I'm not clear on this, which is why I've only selected RedVolts. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Paul. Doesn't appear that RED bricks will work with the Scarlet. My i7 930, 12GB RAM, GTX480 gpu system should push the Scarlet footage around ok. Here's to looking at next fall.

RED Bricks work with scarlet as long as you buy the adapter cable and something like the belt clip I believe.

That's a great lens. I will probably be using it as my primary lens until I buy PL-Anamorphics.

I don't see any mention of an LCD cable in that description or the photo, though the tagline says "everything you need to start shooting." Maybe I overlooked something or maybe they forgot about it, but you'll definitely want (need) one of those too.

Ahhh, thank you, Gavin. Thank you, too, Häakon. I appreciate this info. :-)

It's in the 5" LCD description:
Includes 7in LCD/EVF CABLE. Other cable lengths also available

I had to do a double take. I was like "Heyyyyy, that's a pretty douche thing to do! What is this a printer?" :P
.
Which reminded me, you do need a USB, Firewire 800 or esata cable though for offloading, there is no mention of any of those. So add that to your list.

From the SSD Red Station (reader) to my workstation, yes? I have both cables. Didn't know about the Brick cables though. Thanks.

RED Station comes with a heap of probably the best firewire / usb /sata cables I've ever seen. All nylon braided and the whole 9. RED spares no expense on this shit. It's all in the details.
