  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Did Final Cut Pro Just Crack Ai Color Grading?

I'm finishing up a project so may not update for a few weeks but this does look like an interesting feature. This Color match actually looks usable.
If it can consistently get shots at least 80% close to matching then I would be satisfied with it.

I still like and primarily work with FCP but have to give credit to Black Magic Design for what they continue to accomplish with Resolve.
The past several years felt like Apple put FCP from the back burner to the fridge so to speak.
Black Magic Design has had a 15 year run of constantly pushing Resolve from just a color grading tool to what is now a full post production suite in one app. Granted Resolve can't help but feel a tad bloated but the app is still relatively lean compared to a few other longtime apps I can think of.

I've put up with some of the perceived neglect from Apple with the feeling that editing in FCP still seems much more straightforward and faster than other NLEs though I find myself occasionally going to Resolve for some features that are simply nonexistent in FCP.

I hope with Apple's Creative studio we see renewed efforts to keep FCP current and innovative.

I also saw this new Auto Mask feature that looks quite nice.
Again, will have to see how well it works in actual projects.
