Developing Workflow for Sitcom

I am looking into the possibility of using RED and have been developing a workflow. I am finding a couple of sticky points.
The project is a sitcom. It will be a three camera shoot, mostly on a soundstage. It is being produced independently and quickly, so the workflow must be rock solid.

The plan is to ingest on set, from compact flash cards. We will play proxy files off the ingest machine when occasional video playback is needed. During ingest we will copy files off over gigabit ethernet to a raid (likely promise but any other suggestions would be appreciated).

From all my research I find it best to transcode to ProResHQ at this point. It must go to 1080p eventually, and we will print to HDCAM most likely. We want to stay online the entire time, and from my understanding quality and processor performance ProResHQ should pose us no problems. Ideally, we would like to apply base color correction at this point. We can dedicate a machine to this transcode/color correct process as well.

Questions:
1. Do we use RedRushes RedCine, or Compressor?
2. Would Compressor apply basic color correction or could we "batch" it through Color or something of the like?
3. Is there anyway to automate this process in RedRushes/Redcine?
4. How long does it take to Transcode with top of the line hardware? Part of the joy and our aim for running tapeless is that your editor can be editing within a few hours.

We would then cut in Final Cut. Final correct in Color. Export the project, send off for post production sound, final finishing, and print to tape.

We are really only running 3-4 machines on a gigabit ethernet network, and using prores, so I have been told from several whom are running similar networks, there is no need for fiber channel. Chime in if you know about this.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
